How to NOT do a Disney World Vacation

(I hope I've posted this in the best place, as it falls somewhere between topics)

This past summer, my wife and I took our sons (ages 6 and to Walt Disney World for the first time. For my wife and I, this was our first trip back as adults (my last trip was in the mid 70's as a 6 year old!)

We did our best to prepare, and although we did many things the 'right' way (stayed on property, took advantage of the Disney Dining Plan, and made our meal reservations) we found that we were truly unprepared to fully take advantage of what we had access to.

We visited WDW in June, during the last of the Star Wars Weekends of 2010. Although many will say that was a mistake on its own (hot weather, extreme crowds, and peak season) we are long time Star Wars fans and it seemed to be the perfect fit for our first visit.
